Russell Dunbier, started Dunbier Marine Products
by renting half of a 300 meter factory in South Rd, Moorabbin
in May, 1969, doing a variety of welding and repair work and
manufacturing many different types of trailers, tow bars and
steel garages.
The decision was made in late 1973 to concentrate solely
on manufacturing boat trailers and their components. Within
9 months of that decision Dunbier moved to a larger premises
and a production line of boat trailers was underway. Over
the years from the mid 1970's to the late 80's the Dunbier
dealer base continued growing at a rapid rate and we moved
to a larger manufacturing premises twice in that period to
keep up with demand for our trailers.
